The InnovationSeeds portal was originally built under the FP7 ECO-PRO project, co-ordinated by Greenovate! Europe, where technological R&D results from the environmental domain were described and classified in the Database. Following the completion of ECO-PRO, the FP7 greenXpo co-ordinated by Projektträger Jülich added non-technological eco-innovations and policy measures to the Database.
Currently, the Horizon 2020 green.eu project supports the addition of further eco-innovation policy cases from outside of Europe to the database, as well as animating several new features, including webinars and an upcoming interactive map.
In addition, Greenovate! Europe adds new green European R&D results to the database, to ensure that the results from R&D projects can easily be found for future exploitation.
