Continuing the success of the Green Growth and Sustainable Development (GGSD) Forums, we are pleased to announce that the third Forum will focus on “addressing the social challenges of green growth".
The 2014 Forum will examine the distributional consequences of implementing green growth strategies and their impact on employment, skills and income. Green growth’s combination of strong economies and a clean environment could increase the well-being of all citizens if the right policy mix is applied.
It will bring together experts from policy making and research to examine the evidence and options in two key domains – energy and jobs – based on concrete experience of dealing with the social implications for households and workers.
The Forum will discuss both the technical and political economy aspects of the issues, to propose workable solutions that can be implemented across different levels of government. It will also identify areas that need further research, analysis and collaboration to close knowledge gaps.
