GreenEcoNet is promoting sustainable practices by connecting SMEs and the research community, thus facilitating faster transition to a green economy. Raising awareness, disseminating results as well as the uptake of green business practices across Europe are its main foci; its platform is the instrument for it. 

ECO-INNOVERA

ECO-INNOVERA is a European network of 25 partners addressing a wide range of eco-innovation topics from research to dissemination. Applying the concept of systemic eco-innovation, ECO-INNOVERA focuses on promoting sustainable practices in order to boost the implementation of eco-innovation in Europe.

White Lobster: Green Product Award

The White Lobster agency, has launched a Green Product Award which aims to achieve comprehensive knowledge transfer by supporting eco design and manufacturing in a very broad sense. High quality, innovative and sustainably designed products awarded the Green Product status benefit from a strong marketing impetus. 

SusChem: the European Techno logy Platform for Sustainable Chemistry

SusChem, the European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry, is a forum that aims at promoting the sector of European chemical and biochemical innovation. Through substitutiondamage reducing techniques or other forms of eco-manufacturing, sustainable chemistry can help meet the  needs of modern society. 

NeRess (network for resource efficiency)

NeRess, the network for resource efficiency in Germany combines the knowledge and experience of its members on resource efficient production, products, and management in an interdisciplinary and practical way. The network is enhancing the cooperation by encouraging information exchange and networking among the stakeholders. 

Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC)

Bio-based industries from various sectors have joined forces as the “Bio-based Industries Consortium” (BIC) to help overcome an innovation “Valley of Death” by bridging the gap from research to the marketplace. As a private sector representative, BIC is a partner in the public-private partnership for Bio-based Industries (BBI)[1] with the EU.

Greenovate! Europe (G!E)

Greenovate! Europe is a European expert group dedicated to the development of sustainable businesses. Its members are experienced professionals who facilitate and communicate innovation processes for environmental technologies along the entire innovation value chain. G!E provides innovation support services at European level to EU projects, research laboratories, technology developers, companies willing to acquire new technologies, and investors.

The Product Sustainability Forum (PSF)

The Product Sustainability Forum (PSF) is a collaboration of retail institutions and companies based in the United Kingdomproviding support and a platform for these organisations to work together to measure, improve and communicate the environmental performance of the grocery and home improvement products.[1]

 
Chemical Regions for Resource Efficiency (R4R)

Research-driven clusters from six European regions have joined forces as “Chemical Regions for Resource Efficiency (R4R)” with the goals of improving research, enhancing the cooperation, overcoming fragmentation. They aim to transform these industries into eco-efficient, high-tech solution providers, thus providing support to business and more positively impacting the environment and society.

Resource innovation Network for European Waste (ReNEW)

The Resource Innovation Network for European Waste (ReNEW) represents a network of organisations whose aim it is to develop, support and deliver innovations for and along the waste supply chain.[1] It successfully promotes the recovery of valuable materials from waste.[2] By combining activities the partners are promoting sustainable practices among a wide range of target groups.

 
ECOGEM – An innovative Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for electric vehicles aiming at sustainable mobility

ECOGEM is an integrated intelligence and learning functionalities approach towards on-board systems for fully electric vehicles (FEVs). This allows these vehicles reaching their destination via energy efficient itineraries while considering in real-time technical and surrounding features (i.e. battery level, traffic, available charging points, etc.). 

Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN)

In order to further accelerate achieving the United Nations’ Millenium Goals[1], the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) facilitates and supports joint learning, overcoming the compartmentalisation of technical and policy work by promoting integrated approaches to the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world.[2]

 
Sharing information amongst actors in the environmental sector to identify new business and export opportunities

Green Net in Finland is a network of 60 environmental actors including universities, cities, regional organisations and companies. The network member organisations specialise in various cleantech areas such as energy efficiency, environment and ICT. They benefit by sharing expertise and collectively applying for public and private funding for developing innovative cleantech applications.

ACR+ (The Association of Cities and Regions for Recycling and Sustainable Resource Management)

ACR+ is an international network of primarily local and regional authorities, who aim to promote smart resource consumption and the sustainable management of municipal waste by encouraging prevention at the source, reuse and recycling. The network develops the expertise and skills of public authorities and facilitating and raising awareness by providing support and consultancy, disseminating research results, promoting information sharing and networking

Green Ship of the Future

Green Ship of the Future is an industry-driven network which aims at minimising the carbon footprint by developing and demonstrating eco-innovations for the maritime industry in Denmark. The focus is on joint projects and studies on near-to-market solutions for energy efficient design and low carbon solutions in ship manufacturing and maritime transport operations. 

SOMABAT: Novel SOlid MAterials for high power Li polymer BATteries for the manufacturing and recycling of automotive batteries.

An environmental friendly and low cost Li polymer battery with high energy density was developed. Synthetic carbon and other materials coming from agricultural wastes were obtained to make up the anode. Novel nanostructured cathode materials based on lithium iron and manganese phosphate allowed maximum energy storage in minimum space. And polymeric materials made up the electrolyte, thereby avoiding safety issues (e.g. issues related to leakages, short circuits, overcharge).

European Wind Energy Association (EWEA)

The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) aims to facilitate policies and initiatives that strengthen the development of European and global wind energy markets. The association, which is based in Belgium, is a long-standing partnership of more than 600 members[1] with the aim of efficiently expanding wind power in the long term.

Cradle to Cradle (C2C) – the Dutch Region of Venlo towards a circular economy

Referred to as a global capital of Cradle to Cradle (C2C), the Dutch city of Venlo is the first municipality in the world to have fully adopted the principle of C2C on a regional scale. Engaging citizens, businesses and local authorities, the region is transforming into an innovative platform employing reverse logistics for a new circular economy with safe and healthy products. 

European Technology Platform on Sustainable Mineral Resources (ETP SMR)

In order to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness in the mineral industries, the European Technology Platform on Sustainable Mineral Resources (ETP SMR) aims at modernising and reshaping this fundamental pillar of the European economy.  By providing a frame for combining activities and networking, the platform facilitates support to business in order to meet sustainability criteria more efficiently.  

The Sustainability Consortium (TSC)

The Sustainability Consortium® (TSC®) seeks to improve consumer product sustainability by engaging various global participants to drive innovation in this field. By providing support, developing transparent methodologies, tools, and strategies, a new generation of products and supply networks shall be developed, in turn addressing environmental, social, and economic imperatives.[1]
