Tenerrdis, a flagship new energy technologies cluster in the Rhône-Alpes region

Tenerrdis is a competitiveness and innovation cluster located in the French Rhône-Alpes region. It specialises in new energy systems, with 150 members from industry (55% SMEs), research and higher education sectors. Its goal is to help maintain and improve their position in the global market for clean energy. 

DiGeSPO – micro Combined Heat and Power Innovative compact devices for residential and commercial buildings

DiGeSPO has developed a small thermodynamic solar system based on innovative concentrated solar power (CSP) and Stirling engine technologies. The resulting device aims at providing electrical power, heating and cooling for houses as well as residential and commercial buildings. Also, the system will be integrated in an architecturally acceptable manner and with low visual impact.

Decreasing environmental emissions in commercial shipping by introducing fuel cell technology

Converting energy via chemical reaction into electricity – fuel cells – is a technology to produce energy at reduced emissions. Especially when it comes to reduction of emissions from shipping, fuel cells have been shown to be effective. This was successfully done by the Joint Industry Project FellowSHIP coordinated by the Norwegian Det Norske Veritas (DNV). 

Zero carbon factory

Renault’s Tangier plant in Morocco has demonstrated the possibility to reduce energy consumption and reach levels for zero carbon emissions and zero industrial liquid discharges. This was done in cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco and Veolia Environnement, by converting the plant’s energy system into a renewable driven one.

Stirling engine technology

The Stirling engine is a unique technology that is efficiently used when converting gas and solar into heat and electricity. In recent years, the Stirling engine has seen a resurgence as the market has many benefits such as its flexibility to run on any available heat source. One unique application is in the conversion of gas and solar energy into heat and electricity. Since the stirling engine does not rely on internal combustion, it can be powered by low-grade methane gas that is today just being flared or released right into the earth’s atmosphere.

Elforest - electric hybrids pioneers in the sector of large industrial vehicles.

Though successful in many transportation sectors, there has not yet been a major break-through for electric hybrid technology in large industrial vehicles. The company Elforest has entered the market with an innovative electric hybrid concept which helps to reduce some of the challenges of this segment of vehicles.

Restorative greenhouse solution converting saltwater into fresh water through evaporation

Farming in arid regions has so far been troublesome due to lack of fresh water. With a new design of greenhouses which incorporates desalination of saltwater through evaporation, a sustainable solution for growing crops in hot and dry climates is provided.
