Underground waste transportation system for residual waste, paper and food waste

The high-tech waste sorting and transportation system in Hammarby Sjöstad eco-city in Sweden reduces the need for waste trucks to enter the city while increasing the efficiency of waste separating. An innovative vacuum suction system transports waste fractions to the city perimeter via a series of underground tunnels. 

Risk mitigation strategies addressing induced seismic risk of Enhanced Geothermal Systems

The hydraulic pumping process used in Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) causes seismic risks that raise public concern. The Advanced Traffic Light System developed by the GEISER consortium allows EGS projects to take into account the ‘Induced Seismicity’ risk and thus to set up appropriate strategies to increase public acceptance.  

CYPROBELL

The CYPROBELL project aims to promote the use of an innovative decentralized recycling plant for recovering grey water in Cyprus. The so-developed technology constitutes a good water and wastewater treatment achievement for increasing the availability of potable water in countries affected by water scarcity, without requiring large infrastructures like storage facilities or desalinating plants.
