South Korea’s food waste reduction policies

The South Korean government has established a comprehensive and successful policy mix aiming at food waste treatment and recovery. The objective is to change the food culture by reducing waste and recycling.

CAPWA - CAPture WAter – A new source of water

The CAPWA project has developed a novel water capture technology capable of extracting water molecules from water containing gas streams emitted from fossil fuel power plants or papermaking plants.

NanoPCM: High performance, low cost, nano-insulation foam with improved LCA

A high performance insulating foam has been developed for building applications by the NanoPCM project. The innovation lies in the encapsulation of Phase Change Materials (PCM) within a polymer matrix with addition of nano materials, the encapsulation being carried out via a zero-waste spray-drying process.

SENSORGAN

Based on the need to find measures to protect historical organs, the SENSORGAN project (Sensor system for detection of harmful environments for pipe organs) has developed an automatized and remote sensing system. Church organs are large and complex pieces containing several different types of materials. Various types of wood, leather, brass, iron and pipe metals put together a sensitive combination when it comes to changes in the indoor environment. Each of the organ parts responds differently to a change in the indoor climate of the church and under certain microclimatic conditions, the organ parts will be harmed and it might be unplayable.
